this site will give you hours of enjoyment. hopefully you have the time to kill because it can be addicting. this is america, people... it is a must see. there are categories and photos and so many things to explore. i am not posting a photo from this website because i simply couldn't pick a favorite. i love them all. l.o.v.e.
this website lets you look at pictures of beautiful dishes and desserts and very often has links to the recipes too. this is an eggs benedict version of grilled cheese i found on tastespotting... originally from here. yum.
it's misery and i need to share it. i know it's ridiculous... i can't explain it so i won't try. when i see the commercial that has this "song" it gets into my head. now it will infect you. you're welcome.
and making the best out of a not-so-good situation. one way to do that is stumble upon an incredible mexican restaurant that actualy originated in mexico, like papa's and beer. i still don't get the name (potatoes and beer? daddy's and beer?), but don't care and i have yet to find a reason not to go. great food and great margaritas, especially on my 4th birthday. yum.
you never know when something tragic is going to happen that will change your life. the saying "what doesn't kill you makes you stronger" is a crock of shit. the fallout may last for years... sometimes when you think it's over, you're hit with a shock wave. it can turn you upside-down when you least expect it. sometimes, just because it didn't kill you, doesn't mean it still won't.
seriously, i can't. i love when everyday things are recreated into something beautiful. i can't explain it, you need to look for yourself. here is just one random (beautiful) piece from johnathan lewis. go. now.
i love finding an interior design image that i love... and then tweaking it just a little. i don't mean to imply that the original isn't gorgeous, i just like to make it mine. here is an example...a photo of a beautiful room i found on the entertaining design blog decorno...
everything else in the original room i would keep as is. note: the bed i chose is one that brocade home discontinued... but i still love it & on the table i would, of course, have a bottle of blanton's instead.
the breathtaking bencio del toro. his name, his talent, his attitude, his persona (since i don't actually know him) and of course his good looks. i found these photos that were taken by david raccuglia while scrolling through one of my favorite blogs/ magazines: refueled. i was captivated by his moody shots of iggy pop (more love) and a needed to see more. refueled is genius in itself and must be bookmarked. full of all sorts of inspiration. love.
i love minimalism in art, in music, in architecture, in fashion, even in food. the simplicity and abstract balance are so pleasing to me. that is one of the reasons i adore the sh*t out of the paintings of artist jake longstreth. the added bonus of of his work is that it is also a snapshot of a certain time and place... the kind of thing that you can look back on and know around what year it was painted and it's a silent commentary on our culture; the more dated it becomes the more endearing it is. i'm in love... and have been for a long time. his work inspires me. i encourage you to check out his website. love. as in my last post i am putting a video below as a sort of "soundtrack" for the painting (which i based on the words less than the music). i chose this version because i felt like it was visually more fitting than the original. enjoy.
i f-ing love this painting by james roper. it's titled "away from here" (although in my head it says superhero's laundry). it has so much energy in it, as most of his work does... and it feels familiar and original at the same time. i fell in love with it the first time i laid eyes on it almost a year ago. (i found it on the explosively inspirational website ffffound!.) seriously, love.
i think if that painting had it's own theme song... this would be it (FYI the music begins about 30 seconds into the video):
i think twins are fascinating. i am not a twin. i know twins... i have cousins who are twins. i just think it must be so amazing to have that kind of inexplicable connection with another person... a relationship that is completely unique and incomparable to anything else. except maybe being a triplet.
that last post made me feel a little dirty so i thought i would top the page with something a bit more wholesome... a cupcake. this beauty comes courtesy of recipe rhapsody via tastespotting enjoy.
i hadn't done a "hate" post in a while and even though i'm a little late to join the bandwagon on it... this one is a no brainer: racist + stripper-whore = hate. (not to mention the cheating douchebag who brought her into the spotlight.)
i love when two wonderful people meet and fall in love and get married and celebrate their 4 year wedding anniversary (you know who you are!) i love the photographer, martine roch who created this piece.
